Versilian Archaeological Museum Bruno Antonucci

The Versilian Archaeological Museum Bruno Antonucci, is located in the municipality of Pietrasanta.

The museum collection is the result of the search for archaeological finds by the Versilian Speleological and Archaeological Group, led by Professor Bruno Antonucci. The artefacts found tell the story of Versilia from Prehistory to the Middle Ages.

The museum itinerary is divided into thematic areas, each dedicated to a particular historical period in Versilia

In the first room, the visitor can go back in time to the Copper Age to observe a collection of artifacts that include arrowheads, daggers, pendants and other stone and bone objects

In the main room there is the section concerning the Etruscan age with the reconstruction of the site of San Rocchino, located on the shores of Lake Massaciuccoli, which in ancient times was an important commercial emporium. It is possible to admire a scale reproduction of the houses of the past and a great variety of pottery, work tools and animal remains.

Of particular interest are the collection of Etruscan funerary stones from various locations in Versilia and the testimonies of the Ligurians and Romans in Versilia, coming from the major archaeological sites in the area.

Finally, some Medieval and Renaissance ceramics are exhibited on the ground floor of the Luigi Russo Cultural Center, located in the Sant'Agostino complex.
